FastPour beer dispense - Motorpoint Arena Nottingham

Nottingham’s Motorpoint Arena has recently undergone a scheme of refurbishment, which saw a revamp of its food and drink outlets. The 10,000-capacity arena now features two new food and drink areas, with bars installed by T&J Installations, using their FastPour high volume beer dispense solutions and expertise.

Requirement

The venue has varying demands depending on the event being staged. What is consistent in all of these, is the need for efficiency and speed of dispense for the beer they serve – and that the quality of that beer is kept high. Staff efficiency and efficiency of service were also key elements within the client brief.

Site assessment

Following discussions with the client, we conducted our survey of the venue – this is comprehensive and part of every T&J installation project. During this survey, we evaluate power requirements, drainage requirements, site access, health and safety, asbestos reports and any other challenges the site may present during our work. This survey work also helps us to understand the feasibility of delivering to desired client timescales – which, in this case, were very strict due to the venue’s event timetable and refurbishment programme.

Installation

We review the results of our site survey with our engineers – so that they are aware of how the job should progress, before they undertake it. Halfway through the installation, we provide a progress report to all interested parties, including the venue’s drinks provider and catering partner. This is where we address any issues that may have arisen thus far, before completing the installation and commissioning it.

Solution

The FastPour system is ideal for large venues, particularly where music, performance and sporting events are concerned, as bars receive a high number of customers that need to be served within a short period of time. The system is optimised for dealing with volume dispense; on multi-dispense fonts, staff can pour several pints at once resulting in even faster service.

Furthermore, in order to avoid delays in service due to empty kegs, the system utilises a unique keg change-over system that allows up to three kegs to be connected to one tap. This is particularly beneficial when the cellar is at some distance from the dispense area.

Client feedback

”FastPour has been a perfect investment for Motorpoint Arena and we’ve seen excellent results in the delivery of great products. Service before, and more importantly during breaks in shows, are high pressure situations – we deal with significant volumes of beer at these times. Our customers are now far less likely to leave a queue, empty handed."
