Nitro coffee and cold brew coffee

Coffee 1

The nitro coffee and cold brew coffee phenomenon has a fast-growing UK fan base, following huge success in the US. The process of serving these ice-cold coffee drinks, is very like that of beer dispense – and that’s something we know very well. T&J Installations’ service includes supply of all the necessary storage, dispense and refrigeration equipment, as well as the installation and maintenance works – so that you can develop, serve and grow your very own brand of nitro coffee or cold brew coffee.

What is cold brew coffee?

Cold brew coffee is different to cold coffee and iced coffee. The drink is made over the course of 24-48 hours – with the coffee brewed using cold water and left to stand within a tank, similar to those used for beer or cider, for 1-2 days. The drink doesn’t touch any additional chemicals and the brewing process produces a distinctive, sweeter tasting drink.

What is nitro coffee?

Nitro coffee is produced when cold coffee is infused with nitrogen gas inside a keg, like those used for beer. The nitrogen has an interesting effect on the drink. When poured, the coffee develops a creamy froth – as you would expect to see from a stout – it’s also a sweeter drink, and the texture is creamy - even when served black.

How popular is it?

Nitro coffee has been incredibly successful in the US with everyone from boutique outlets, to global chains, such as Starbucks, introducing the product to their menu. Over the past couple of years, both cold brew coffee and nitro coffee have begun making their mark here in the UK – and we believe the best way to introduce either of them to any outlet, and nurture the growth of the trend, is to offer it at its best - on tap and brewed in-house.

Why serve it on tap?

Serving cold brew coffee and nitro coffee, fresh from the tap – rather than selling a canned product – means that you’re not restricted to a certain brand and formula. You are free to create your own blend and, in doing so, retain your USPs.
